Lebanese mayor arrested for trafficking organs in Spain

  A wealthy mayor from Lebanon has been arrested in Spain for attempting to purchase liver tissue off poor people for his liver transplant.

  The mayor was arrested on January 30 at Manises Airport in Valencia. Government of Spain has granted bail to the suspect as long as the suspect surrenders his passport and remain in Spain. The suspect shall also remain in Spain until his sentence has been carried. This is also the first time that potential human organ trafficking is detected in this nation.

  The suspects could face 12 years in prison if found guilty, but the court's investigation is still in progress. A trial has yet to be carried.
